Genus Expands Globally, Targeting its Technology for Japan
SUNNYVALE, Calif. (April 25, 2000) Genus, Inc. (Nasdaq: GGNS) announced that it has opened a direct sales office in Tokyo, Japan and appointed industry veteran Mr. Jack Oishi as president to head-up its growth. The new operation will be called Genus Japan, and its office opens on April 28, 2000.

"Jack's in-depth knowledge of the market and Genus' innovative technology will bring tremendous opportunity to Genus in the Japanese market."
Mr. Oishi has over 20 years of experience in the Japanese semiconductor equipment industry. Before joining Genus, Mr. Oishi was the president and CEO of Tyecin-Innotech Corporation. He was also a co-founder of Innotech and held various senior management positions at Tokyo Electron Lab., Inc. (TEL).
