Genus Achieves ISO 9001 Certification

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (October 17, 2000) – Genus, Inc. (Nasdaq: GGNS) announced that it has been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001 Registration for its quality management system. The ISO 9001 certification is an internationally recognized standard that establishes quality assurance in design, development, production, installation, and service. The Certificate of Registration was awarded as a result of an audit by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI), an official registrar for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

"This recognition of the Genus quality management system is a real milestone for the company," said Genus CEO Dr. William W. R. Elder. "Our ISO 9000 team has done an outstanding job. And thanks to the ongoing diligence and teamwork of all of our employees, Genus can provide the highest quality in meeting production demands for our thin film deposition systems worldwide."

NSAI has performed audits and awarded ISO 9000 registrations to many leading US-based companies in the semiconductor industry. Established in 1946 with its main office in Dublin, Ireland, NSAI has been operating in North America since 1969 and has offices in Merrimack, New Hampshire and Fremont, California.
